Job Summary

The Director of Total Rewards manages Employee Benefits and Compensation Plans for Neenah Enterprises, Inc. Provides guidance and assistance to all divisions on various employee benefit and compensation plans. Recommends, and installs approved, new, or modified plans and policies, and supervises administration of existing plans. Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws with regard to compensation and benefits. Ensures communication with regard to employee benefits and compensation. Maintains employee benefits data base, manages all insurance billings and maintains employee benefits files.

  • Ensure total rewards programs are designed to support NEI’s strategic objectives, comply with legal requirements, are cost effective and market competitive.
  • Lead the overall benefits strategy incorporating a data-driven approach to recommendations and implementation of changes to our programs to maintain competitive advantage, drive a wellness culture, and to recruit and retain top talent.
  • Design, implement, administer, and maintain corporate-wide compensation and total rewards programs, policies, communication, and procedures. Ensure total rewards programs are designed to support NEI’s strategic objectives and comply with legal requirements.
  • Assist in development of Company bargaining proposals for employee benefits and analyzes Union benefits demands.
  • Obtain and prepare cost data for Company and Union proposals and final settlements.
  • Prepare for ongoing education of the workforce so that there is a full understanding of each component of compensation.
  • Partner with vendors for full scope management of the medical, dental, life, long-term and short-term disability insurance plans, flexible spending accounts and 401(k) plan.
  • Partner closely with and actively manage benefit plan, vendors, auditors, and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administration; manage RFP process when determining need for new and/or improved partners and vendors.
  • Seek new and creative mechanisms to communicate to both potential future hires and existing associates on our benefits portfolio that allows for education and informed choices for benefit selections.
  • Manage annual enrollment communications for all benefits.
  • Develop and implement standard enterprise compensation programs, practices, processes, and systems; including company-wide philosophy and guiding principles to create, improve and maintain integrity of compensation structures and decisions that drive pay equity.
  • Sit on the Investment Committee for the 401(k) and Pension Plans and act a recording Secretary.
  • Ensure compensation plans comply with country, state, and local laws and regulations and position.
  • Establish and execute a wellness strategy steeped in employee education and accountability while maintaining and/or improving cost structures.
  • Coordinate Employee Engagement opportunities; including employee surveys, open benefit hours for hourly employees, promote wellness benefits, and advise on appropriate access to vendor websites for computer kiosks in plants.
  • Research and make recommendation for annual anti-harassment/Diversity & Inclusion training for employees across NEI. Creates a strategic plan on progression of the training.
  • Manage non-discrimination testing (NDT) of 401(k) and Section 125 Plans. Prepares census data and provides required information for Plan audits.
  • Evaluate and implement recognition structures and programs that elevate employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Handle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
  • Research, consult and recommend benefit strategies for business acquisitions and divestitures.

  • Demonstrated ability to work without close supervision, produce quality work and handle periodic special projects independently, while maintaining focus and sense of urgency in an environment with frequent interruptions and a high level of varied activity.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR processes and procedures is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work with accuracy and have a proven work history of precision and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile reports from various databases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work within mandatory time frames.
  • Must maintain utmost level of confidentiality due to the sensitivity of the work in this department.

Edu & Exp
  • The successful candidate will have 10+ years of compensation and benefits experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, accounting or human resources
  • Prior experience in compensation and benefits administration in a multi-state, union and non-union environment is preferred
  • Certified Benefit Professional (CBP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred
  • Must have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Up to 15% domestic travel may be required.
