Pay Rate:

  • Rate of Pay - $31.50/hr.
  • 2nd shift premium: $0.70
  • 3rd shift premium: $0.80
  • Tool Allowance - $300

Competence
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Mathematics — Knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Equipment Maintenance — Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures. Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
  • Operation Monitoring — Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations.
  • Troubleshooting — Determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Operation and Control — Control operations of equipment or systems. Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Critical Thinking — Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Equipment Selection — Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Complex Problem Solving — Identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Problem Sensitivity — Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Communication — Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment. Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.

This position description is intended to cover the most significant, ongoing job functions and competency areas. Successful performance in the role will require performing satisfactorily other duties as assigned.

Edu & Exp
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Maintenance Mechanic journeyman card required.
  • Will consider ten (10) years’ previous experience as a maintenance mechanic in lieu of journeyman’s card.
  • Must have their own tools up to ½” drive
  • Previous maintenance mechanic experience in a foundry preferred.
  • Experience in automatic molding and core making machines a plus
  • Must be able/ willing to work weekends
Travel
  • Minimal, less than 5%.
